Our Courses

Real Response’s PUAFER005 – Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation course prepares individuals to take on the critical role of Fire Warden or Emergency Warden, ensuring they can lead and coordinate emergency responses in the workplace. This course goes beyond fire emergencies, covering a range of scenarios that require a site-wide response to protect life and ensure safe evacuation. Participants will engage in simulation-enhanced training, including a simulated evacuation, to build confidence in real-world emergency situations.

In this course, you’ll learn to:

  • Understand emergency control procedures and warden roles:
    • Identify emergency types and workplace risks, ensuring preparedness for various scenarios.
    • Understand the responsibilities of Fire Wardens and Emergency Wardens in coordinating responses.
  • Assess and respond to emergency situations:
    • Identify and evaluate emergencies, ensuring the safety of all occupants.
    • Follow established emergency control procedures to manage different incidents effectively.
  • Initiate and coordinate site-wide evacuations:
    • Lead evacuation procedures, directing building occupants to safety.
    • Use communication systems and emergency alarms to provide clear instructions.
  • Communicate effectively during remote incidents:
    • Convey accurate incident details to emergency services using appropriate communication devices.
    • Utilise available resources to provide prolonged care, considering potential delays in emergency response.
  • Participate in emergency debriefs and continuous improvement:
    • Review emergency responses, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Recognise the psychological impact of emergencies and seek support if needed.
