Frequently Asked Questions

If you are having problems booking on the website, please contact our operations team on 1300 744 980. We will either process your booking manually or help you navigate the website.

You can find our cancellation, modification and refund policy here.

Our courses have a maximum capacity of 12 (online), 14 (express), and 18 (standard) participants. Our operations team manually manages these capacities in our Student Management System. If our booking system indicates that there are not enough available places, please contact us at 1300 744 980 or support@realresponse.com.au. We may be able to accommodate your group or offer an alternative solution.

Some courses, like Standard Mental Health First Aid or First Responder Tactical Trauma, are run infrequently due to trainer availability and low public attendance. If you are interested in taking a course, get in touch via our Contact Us page.

When you get to the "Confirmation and payment" screen you will see "Do you have an access code? Click here to enter it" This is where you enter it.

While anyone can participate in our courses and receive an unaccredited certificate, there are some restrictions for those seeking nationally accredited certification due to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) requirements. Consider the following when booking:

  • You must be eligible to hold an Australian USI (Unique Student Identifier).
  • You must be over the age of 16, or a parent, guardian, or responsible adult must attend the course with you.
  • You must be physically able to complete the required assessments, such as performing CPR on the floor for 2 minutes.
  • You must be able to complete any online pre-course work.
  • You must be fluent in English or have access to an interpreter.

If you have any questions or need specific information, please email us at support@realresponse.com.au or call 1300 744 980, and we will be happy to help.

Yes, many of our courses include online pre-course work that must be completed before attending. This allows us to cover much of the theoretical knowledge beforehand, ensuring you can dive straight into the hands-on learning and simulations our courses are known for.

Most of our courses do not have prerequisites. The courses that do are listed below.

  • UETDRMP007—Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel (Find out about this prerequisite here),
  • HLTAID015—Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (Requires current HLTAID011—Provide First Aid)
  • PUAEME008—Provide Pain Management (Requires current HLTAID011—Provide First Aid)

Our express/blended 3.25-hour First Aid Course is designed for those who prefer a more concise, face-to-face training session, complemented by an extensive online component. This format doubles the online work to ensure that all theoretical knowledge is covered beforehand, allowing the in-person session to focus intensively on simulations and assessments. This option is ideal for individuals who are refreshing their skills or are comfortable with independent online study.

In contrast, our comprehensive 7-hour First Aid Course is recommended for those who are new to first aid or have not undertaken a first aid course in a while. This course provides extensive face-to-face learning, with less online work required, ensuring that all participants receive thorough instruction in both the practical and theoretical aspects of first aid. This full-day format is particularly beneficial for first-time learners or those who prefer a more traditional learning environment.

If you hold an electrical licence or can provide evidence of an electrical qualification, we recommend enrolling in the new UETDRMP007 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel. This course is tailored specifically for those with formal electrical training. If you do not have these qualifications, you can still enrol in UETDRRF004 - Perform rescue from a live LV panel. For a full explanation of these changes, please visit our detailed guide here.

Our public courses are held at various locations across Australia, including:

  • St Kilda (head office)
  • Geelong

  • Online via video conference anywhere in Australia

Yes. There are short breaks throughout and also a lunch break.

Generally certificates are issued the next business day following your course. RTOs have 30 days following a course to issue certificates. You can apply to have your certificate expedited if required.

Public Course: These are scheduled courses held at our training centres in St Kilda, Geelong, Gladstone, and Townsville. They are open to anyone who wishes to enrol.

Onsite Course: These courses are conducted at your workplace or a location of your choice anywhere in Australia or even around the world. They can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your group and are ideal for organisations wanting to train multiple employees simultaneously.

Both options provide comprehensive and accredited training, but the choice depends on convenience and the specific needs of the participants.
